Main Applications: 

Pinkish white powder , insoluble in water, soluble in mineral acids. It readily picks up moisture and carbon dioxide from atmosphere.
 
1. Mostly, it is used in Fluorescence. Eu3+ is for red fluorescence, Eu2+ is for blue fluorescence. and as a material of bar for neutron controlling in nuclear reactor.
2. Recently, it is applied in medical use, such as the X-ray system.
3. Also, coloured lenses and optical filters have Eu2O3 as one of the materials.
